Matthew Athey is a Managing Partner at Bird Point Energy. Prior to co-founding Bird Point Energy, Matthew has held land and business development roles with large operated and non-operated companies. With extensive experience in overseeing transactions of various sizes, ranging from small deals to several hundred-million-dollar closings, Matthew has established a reputation as a skilled negotiator and strategist. Throughout his career, he has built strong relationships with private individuals, large family offices, and every major operator in most of North America’s Lower 48 unconventional plays.
Matthew was born and raised in Enid, OK and now lives with his wife and three children in Oklahoma City, OK. He holds a B.S. in Earth and Energy from the University of Oklahoma.
Travis Wagner is a Managing Partner at Bird Point Energy. Prior to co-founding Bird Point Energy, Travis gained industry experience through reservoir engineering and planning roles at major operators, private equity mineral, and private operators. Throughout his career, he has developed an impressive range of skills and expertise in reserves, acquisition and divestiture, and portfolio management evaluations for a broad range of operated, non-operated, and mineral assets. With his extensive industry experience, Travis brings valuable insights into many of the most prominent North American Basins.
Travis was born and raised in Midland, TX and now lives with his wife and son in Oklahoma City, OK. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
